Bovington Camp

Bovington Tank Museum

The museum has a collection of almost 300 vehicles on exhibition from 26 countries and it is the second-largest collection of tanks and armoured vehicles in the world. It includes the only working example of a German Tiger I tank and a British First World War Mark I, the world's oldest surviving combat tank.

The apparition of a German officer has been seen peering out of windows in the premises – but the windows are 8 feet above ground level! He has frequently been reported looking at the Tiger tank, and this has led some to speculate that this was one he commanded. Employees at the museum affectionately refer to him as “Herman the German”.
